In Our Community...

Trinity Church and its members are a vital part of the community in Guthrie. Trinity parishioners work with, or have worked with, the Pollard Theater, Logan Community Services, the United Way, the Blue Grass Festival, the Community Garden, the Library Board, the Planning Commission, the Transportation Authority, the District Attorney’s office, and the City Council (the current vice-mayor of Guthrie is a Trinity Member).

One form of outreach that is used almost daily is the Trinity Discretionary Fund. Supported by the donations of Trinity's church family, this fund is used to assist with the purchase of groceries, gasoline, prescription medications, and other needs. We also assist with emergency overnight lodging and utility bills.

We participate in the activities of the Guthrie Ministerial Alliance, including the annual Thanksgiving service, the high school  baccalaureate service, the annual pulpit exchange, and the Lenten Lunch series.

Trinity offers many events and services to the community. We have joined with other community churches in presenting Vacation Bible School and an annual ecumenical Palm Sunday procession. We offer a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper each year on the last day before Lent begins, and a Blessing of the Animals every year in October, near the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Each Christmas Day since 2007, we have prepared a full Christmas dinner for any in the community who want to join us, serving as many as 75 people.

We have offered special worship services for ‘89er Day, for the Fourth of July, and special Blue Grass Mass during the Blue Grass festival. We have been on the Guthrie Historic Homes tour several times, and have offered bake sales and garage sales to the community.
